    VSA’s Interaction Design capability exists to guide and inspire digital human interaction. At points where brands and business need to engage their audiences, we design digital experiences that transform interactions, elevate understanding and enhance value for our our clients and their customers.

     

    Our Executive Creative Director, Interaction Design will lead a dynamic team responsible for concepting, designing and activating the next generation of digital customer experiences, design systems and interfaces. This person will be responsible for all aspects of Digital Design and UX, from new business development through execution. The ECD will help define our Interaction Design service capability, evaluate and respond to client requests, help develop project plans and guide the creation of compelling experiences that balance user intent, client needs and project performance.







    Responsibilities

    • Establish overall direction for client programs and projects, synthesize and translate creative briefs to the team, orchestrate all creative aspects, and coordinate all stakeholders.
    • Contribute to new business development efforts, including pitches, RFP responses, and relevant sections of statements of work.
    • Ensure and maintain a consistent, high-quality level of work for all assigned accounts and think beyond individual projects and collaborate directly with clients and develop programmatic solutions.
    • Lead the Interaction work of multiple engagements, directing the work of the team.
    • Support and mentor UX and Digital Design team.  
    • Work with other teams on project scopes by deciding on appropriate Interaction activities, deliverables, resource hours and timing.
    • Serve as UX and Digital Design Lead on resourcing Interaction Design team members on new projects.
    • Represent user priorities and standards of the interaction team in all interactions with the client.
    • Help evangelize and sell UX and Digital services and methods both within VSA and externally.
    • Take a leadership role in developing unique concepts and plan solutions to meet clients’ needs.
    • Interpret client needs and interact closely with team to create and refine chosen direction, identifying alternative strategies for achieving clients’ objectives.
    • Ensure that all projects are driven by user needs and business outcomes.
    • Concept and design innovative user experiences that result in improved consumer engagement, brand affinity and content consumption.
    • Explain to project teams and clients how proposed solutions deliver on strategic goals, business goals and user needs.
    • Apply client knowledge to multiple projects over long-term, possibly multi-year engagements.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of Digital Design and UX experience
    • Experience managing and developing resources, leading and cultivating teams and helping grow new business
    • Proven track record of building and selling digital and UX design offerings
    • Possession of an undergraduate degree
    • Proven client-facing skills and success
    • Drive to see ideas well executed in the end product
    • Self-motivation – the willingness to set personal goals and work independently in a collaborative team setting
    • The ability to quickly gain the trust of collaborators
    • The ability to lead and collaborate as circumstances dictate

    • Excellent analytical skills – the ability to break a complex problem into component parts and set priorities for focus.
    • Skills in problem-solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making.

    • The ability to see a big idea realized through a series of individual user interactions.
    • Fluency in adjacent/dependent practice areas, including Development, Content Strategy and Content Management.
    • Work rapidly while observing and managing deadlines.
    • Stellar communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to interact confidently with all levels inside VSA and with our clients.
    • Handle multiple projects and re-prioritizations.
    • Skillfully organize and prioritize information with thorough attention to detail.
