A Strategy Director will: have the ability to strategically craft ideas and position innovative solutions; possess a high EQ with the ability to “read the room” and navigate conversations with senior executive clients; own the POV and drive the output of workshops and projects, bringing a strong perspective.


  • Has a smart toolbox of ways to: understand a client’s business, industry and competitive landscape; conduct organizational / cultural analysis; develop digital frameworks, solutions and product strategies, as well as digital systems and enablement tools
  • Ability to create marketing strategies and define tactics that acknowledge and embrace the transparency brought on by digital technologies and social media and the resulting shift from “broadcasting messaging” to “encouraging conversation”
  • Coordinate and lead VSA strategic efforts on behalf of the client, including: industry and competitive analysis; consumer/stakeholder research and analysis; organizational / cultural analysis, brand positioning and architecture; multi-year messaging and communication planning; development of metrics for success
  • Excitement about, and experience with data science to accelerate both B2C and B2B marketing initiatives - ranging from designing and deploying metrics-based systems that balance numerous digital tactics, to the analysis of disparate consumer and customer data sets for greater insight and more effective campaigns
  • Actively identify new business opportunities existing within existing and new clients.
  • Understands how to work iteratively through hypotheses and prototyping, and to guide clients through this way of working, including leading client workshops
  • Lead and guide quantitative and qualitative research efforts, market analysis and the development of campaign success metrics
  • Develops diagrams, frameworks and other conceptual models to contextualize data, insights and strategy
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, best practices and case studies to proactively enhance the knowledge base of our strategy discipline
  • Identify sources of growth / profitability in current or new areas through strategic thinking and creative analysis
  • Lead performance marketing across all digital channels. Advise on performance measurement strategies and provide best practice recommendations
  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of digital strategists


  • 10+ years in a role of developing and delivering strategies, with a background that includes two or more areas such as: digitally-focused program or product development; innovation; brand strategy; integrated marketing; strategic communications; management consulting; and feel free to surprise us with something else
  • Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree a plus
  • Experience in customer research, leveraging analytics, and/or client-side brand management or marketing
  • Able to partner with and motivate other disciplines: design, UX, writing, content strategy, research and development
  • Proven track record in effectively managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to manage cross functionally and prioritize client and team needs
  • A collaborative team player who colleagues and clients admire
  • A grounded sense of self that includes amazing listening skills, confidence and empathy
  • Superior problem solving skills and ability to drive decisions with fact-based data and/or empirical insight
