Overview

The Product Manager Intern is responsible for helping to guide VSA projects from initial requirements gathering through launch to ensure quality and excellence. This person is someone who not only likes to get things done, but is interested in making sure the rights things are being built. The role is both internal and client facing, including facilitation of meetings and brainstorming sessions.

At VSA, like much of what we do, we take our internship program seriously. Which means our interns work on “real work,” with real meetings, deadlines, and business challenges from our brands and clients. This is the education you won’t get in a classroom. Consider it career practice, with the freedom to learn, make mistakes, refine, question and tag along. You’ll work with an individual mentor and supervisor in a unique cross-disciplinary environment focused on brand, communications, marketing and digital. As part of the larger program, you’ll take part in intern meetings, team outings, activities and initiatives (can you say networking?). And yes, it’s paid, with an hourly rate, for 40 hours/week, on-site. It starts June 4th. Bet you can’t wait for summer.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers and digital leads in the requirements gathering process. 
  • Facilitate team meetings, client requirement gathering sessions and stakeholder interviews.
  • Track and validate requirements through execution process. 
  • Assist in coordination of QA activities throughout the project lifecycle from user testing scripts to functional QA process. 
  • Manage QA vendors. 
  • Manage software documentation, such as technical requirements, functional specs, and user capabilities. 
  • Assist in fieldings, respond to, and define feedback, including issues and bugs. 
  • Assist directly in troubleshooting efforts and resolving issues when appropriate. 
  • Collaborate on the content and presentation of key client deliverables as required to ensure relevancy, strategy, quality, and timeliness. 

Qualifications

  • Are currently a junior/senior undergraduate student or a recent graduate from an accredited university or design school
  • Have excellent communication and collaborative skills you can carry across marketing disciplines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and to work independently in a team environment
  • Skills in complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making
  • Have versatility and agility in handling multiple projects and reprioritizations
  • Ability to organize information, have attention to detail, and accurately follow procedures
  • Understanding of basic internet workings
  • Understanding of SDLC, both Waterfall and Agile
